Construction and Demolition (C & D) Ordinances
Construction and demolition debris represents a significant portion of
the waste stream in SBWMA communities. Consequently, SBWMA works with
member agencies to develop construction and demolition recommendations,
which can include policies and ordinances. Examples of the policy and
ordinances include:
- Recycling debris
- Reusing materials
- Deconstructing projects for reuse
- Specifying material types and quantities to meet the ordinance
- Reporting diversion results
- Penalizing noncompliant parties
