Residents who live in single-family homes have curbside recycling and garbage service available through Allied Waste. For a complete list of materials you can place in the curbside collection, contact Allied Waste on their website or (650) 592-2411.

Recycling Services

Allied Waste Services of San Mateo County (Allied) provides residents who live in single-family homes with curbside recycling service.

Disposal Services

Weekly garbage service and scheduled pickup service are provided by Allied Waste Services.

San Carlos Food Scraps and Yard Trimmings Program

San Carlos residents in single-family homes will be able to put food scraps in their green Yard Trimmings cart for composting starting the week of March 9.

One-third of our household waste comes from product packaging. Although some packaging is necessary for health and shelf-life reasons, some manufacturers overpackage products, which result in higher costs for consumers.

Take Action!

So when you shop:

Chose products without packaging or with the least wasteful packaging
Avoid single serving items and products that are overly wrapped
Buy in bulk when it's practical
