RethinkWaste is hosting its 13th annual Earth Day on Saturday, April 27th in-person at the Shoreway Environmental Center! Event will be held rain or shine. From interactive activities to local vendors, there will be something for everyone to enjoy! Check out the full event details below. Tours of Shoreway Facility
First come, first serve

Sign up when you arrive – spots are limited!
Get a unique, behind-the-scenes look at where your compost, recycling, and landfill items go! These exclusive weekend tours include a review of proper bin sorting and Q&A time with RethinkWaste staff.
Tour Requirements:
- Close toed shoes
- Face masks
- Minimum age to attend is 8 years old
- Participants must comply with all health and safety guidelines and policies while on-site, and complete a tour permission form at sign-up
Critters & Crawlers
Hold, pet, and hang out with California-native reptiles and amphibians while learning about the important roles they play in our ecosystems. We can all support local wildlife and help protect their habitats!
Trash to Art Contest Recognition
Celebrate the winners of the 2024 Trash to Art Contest and congratulate the student artists. Our Trash to Art Contest is held every year in recognition of Earth Day to inspire 3rd-5th grade students to turn everyday garbage and recyclables into art.
Plant Swap
Bring plants, ceramic pots, cuttings, or seeds to swap with something fresh from our community donation pool! No-cost compost will also be available to nourish your beloved plants.
*Please note only items listed above will be accepted. No sick, diseased, or infested plants.
Paint a Tile
Paint your favorite Earth Day-themed designs that highlight your love for our planet. All materials will be provided – we just need your creativity!
*Tiles will be used to decorate our new office space!
Raffle
All event participants will be eligible to win a prize! Winners must be present to claim prize.
