Business and Organization Tours of the Shoreway Environmental Center in San Carlos provide an inside look at how recyclables are sorted in our upgraded Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) and how compost and garbage are consolidated at the Transfer Station. RethinkWaste staff will also review bin sorting, discuss reuse and reduction tips, and answer all your tricky questions about where items belong (or don’t belong!) when you no longer need them. We offer both virtual and in-person versions of our tours for businesses and organizations!
UPDATE FOR 2025 TOUR OPENINGS: Due to construction at the Shoreway Environmental Center and severely reduced parking and site access, the number of In-Person Tours (both School and Business/Organization) will be limited through 2025. For group tours that are unable to carpool or surpass the maximum number of allowed vehicles (5 vehicles total), bus/shuttle services will be required as there is limited parking available on site. If transportation is a hardship, please reach out to us.
