RethinkWaste is excited to offer the Self-Guided Virtual Tour version of our popular tours of the Shoreway Environmental Center – no shoes, vests, or hard hats required. This interactive experience will take viewers through the facility, providing an inside look at how recyclables are sorted in our Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) and how compost and garbage are consolidated at the Transfer Station.
The tour will also guide viewers through our Public Recycling Center, highlighting options for hard-to-recycle items and sharing practical sorting tips. Along the way, viewers will learn more about RethinkWaste, including who we are and the role we play in managing the waste in our service area that covers Burlingame to East Palo Alto, as well as important facts about landfills and what happens to materials after they leave your bins. Designed as a self-guided experience, the tour allows viewers to move through the content at their own convenience and pace.
